What is Compositing?
A composited image is made up of two or more elements that were not photographed in the same scene. For example, in a beachscape photograph, one might replace the harsh sunlight sky with one from another photo. Or you might mix photographs, graphics, and text to create an online post to generate excitement in a new venture you wish everyone to see.
As stated by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, it is a scenic representation in which sculptured figures and lifelike details are displayed usually in miniature so as to blend indistinguishably with a realistic painted background.
Miniatures Integrated into Photography Compositions
This is where the fun begins. Let us for the moment, imagine your favorite nursery rhyme as a child. Jack and Jill fetching pail of water. You wish to recreate this scene, but there are a couple of issues that are presented. First, you do not have access to a beautiful hill. Second, there is no watering well at the top. How can we overcome these issues? The answer- By building a realistic miniature version of this scene and then photographing both you and the scale model under the same lighting conditions. From there, it is as simple as cutting you out from your background and placing you into the created scene. All that is left is using photo editing software to blend the images into a seamless “Masterpiece”.
This photography style is for the individual who:
Is looking for something new and creative
Thinks outside the box
Wants a one-of-a-kind tailored look
There is no such thing as a lack of imagination, it's just a lack of planning. Creativity comes from a place within yourself and can be brought to life in a unique artistic composition. By creating miniature models, ideas are limitless. You can fight a dragon; you can defend yourself from a horde of zombies or you can find yourself in a middle of a blizzard.
